Introduction to Study Helps Page

This will be a place for the various mini-courses that don't fit anywhere else. Most will be either electives (subjects that you choose), or to do with study skills (things that help you learn more effectively). Many of them will be connected somehow with the "core" subjects, but they will be separate because they are out of the normal order of the subjects.

Some Examples:

  • Music
  • Art (focus on drawing)
  • Logic
  • How to Read
  • How to Study
  • Test Prep
  • Planning for Future
  • Computer Designing and Programming
  • Life Skills
  • Character
  • Health
  • Current Events
  • Liturgical Year
Also, if something comes up in another course that seems important to focus on in more detail, I will probably put some extra resources over here to help.

Possible Example:

  • Avoiding run-on sentences.
TO DO:

For now, try this study skills quiz (looks like it's for new college students). If you disagree with one of the suggestions, you are free to discuss it with me -- study skills DO vary from person to person, so some of the tips might not exactly apply to you, but they are still useful to keep in mind!

Also

Try to figure out how you want to work with the written assignments and writing down the scores you get on quizzes and other assignments. Some possibilities:

  • Put them in emails and send to my windmill address.
  • Put them on Google Docs.
  • Put them on a separate blog.
  • Put them in the comment section of the assignment.
This concludes this introduction!
